We are in a difficult place as a community having suffered such devastation by wind and water. Pray with us as we respond to the many needs each day. This recovery will take a very long time and we have needs to meet and gifts to share. If you would like to donate please go to the EPC website and check disaster relief assistance and donate there. We are amongst about a half dozen EPC churches in this affected area of Western NC and our disaster relief coordinator Whitney Alexander will soon be in the area and assessing the best use of resources. We are collecting blankets at our church in partnership with Mountain Area Projects. If you’d like to donate other items or donate your time as a volunteer, our neighbor churches just a short distance from us are distribution centers, Long’s Chapel on Old Clyde Road, Woodland Baptist Church, and New Covenant Church on Lee Road. If you need spiritual or emotional encouragement we have volunteers who can meet with you and our pastor is always available. Call Edward Brouwer at 828-550-4615. On Saturday, October 12 our women are hosting Second Saturday at Providence, all women are invited to attend this morning’s event of fellowship. If you would like to join call Glenda Brouwer at 828-713-6115. We also have weekly men’s and women’s prayer meetings that you are welcome to participate in. Call either of those numbers for more information about meeting times and places.
It may be difficult to know how best to minister to people at this time but God’s Spirit is inviting us to listen, cry, and extend a helping hand to our near neighbor. Pray for the school that meets on our campus, Haywood Haven, that as they welcome children back, that all may sense a little return to normal and experience greater emotional and spiritual health.
